The design of this project is centred on the retention of an existing 12 unit apartment complex on the site, which allowed for additional density to be added in the development. The new apartments wrap the old structure to provide a unique building that presents to the street, but also incorporates sustainability measures through reduction in landfill, the introduction of extensive photo-voltaic and building management systems and water preservation. The basement carpark is also kept efficient through the introduction of a car lift and stackers to provide additional parking options to residents.
The building features a brass ribbon balustrade that wraps the façade, creating a distinctive feature for the development. The brass is carried into the development through the use of features in plumbing, joinery and lighting.
Fratelle were engaged to undertake Design & Construct review of the project along with services during construction.
